New organic specialty grain ingredients to be
introduced at 2005 All Things Organic
April 11, 2005--An expanded line of certified organic malt and specialty grain ingredients will be introduced by Briess Malt & Ingredients Company in Booth #230 at the All Things Organic tradeshow on May 1-3 in Chicago. Many of the new ingredients are whole grain. New certified organic ingredients that will be displayed include:
- Organic Caramel 60L Malted Barley Flour (whole grain)
- Organic Insta Grains(r) Brown Rice Flour (whole grain)
- Organic Insta Grains(r) Whole Grain Crunchy Brown Rice Cracked
- Organic Insta Grains(r) Whole Grain Crunchy Brown Rice Grit
- Organic Insta Grains(r) Pearled Barley Bumped
- Organic Insta Grains(r) Pearled Barley Flakes
- Organic Briess(tm) Whole Grain Yellow Corn Grits
- Organic Processed Malted Barley Grits
The Briess line of organic ingredients that will be
displayed at ATO also includes natural grain sweeteners (brown rice syrups and
nondiastatic malt extract) and diastatic malted barley flour.
The broad ingredient portfolio manufactured by Briess
offers extensive formulating options for bakery, bagels, pizza crust, pretzels,
crackers, bars, granola, cereal, breadings, sweetened beverages, herbal teas,
tortillas, corn snacks and more. Flavor, color and eye appeal can all be
enhanced with specially processed, value-added grains. Many specialty grain
ingredients are also processing aids or contribute function such as adding bulk,
acting as a binding agent, enhancing viscosity of beverages or enhancing the
browning of breads and rolls.

produce organic ingredients since 1990 and is a member of the Organic Trade
Association.
