Briess recognized for outstanding safety

May 20, 2004-- Briess Malt & Ingredients Company has received an "Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Safety during 2003" from the Wisconsin Council of Safety. 

A total of 165 Wisconsin companies were nominated to receive the award, with winners and finalists being recognized at an April banquet in Madison. The Wisconsin Council of Safety has been presenting safety awards for 10 years as part of its Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award program. That program is designed to honor companies whose employees exemplify safety and health excellence. 

A number of criteria for nominated companies were reviewed by the Wisconsin Council of Safety, including how well companies compare to national statistics for both lost time accidents and reportable accidents. Briess Malt & Ingredients Company, a division of Briess Industries Inc., has been well below the national average in both categories for the past several years, according to Brad Rush, the company’s Manager of Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental.
