Roasting

Malt and raw grains develop rich flavors and colors when roasted at high temperatures, much like coffee beans. The more intense the roasting, the more intense the flavor and color. At Briess, roasting is used to produce Roasted Malt Ingredients and Briess® Roasted Grains Ingredients. Roasting is performed in drum roasters which have been customized to roast either the grains. Only water and/or heat is used to roast the grains. Roasted malt and grain ingredients can be used to add flavor and color to a wide variety of foods and beverages.
